IT consulting in Bothell.
Project work, senior-led.

Microsoft migrations, tenant consolidation, and identity engineering for Bothell organizations — including the life-science corridor. Fixed-fee scope, vendor-neutral, labor-only.

Pro IT NW is a Seattle-based Microsoft project consultancy working across Bothell. We run Microsoft 365 and Exchange migrations, post-acquisition tenant consolidation, identity and Conditional Access engineering, and VMware exits — senior-led, fixed-fee, vendor-neutral. We do not resell licenses and we do not run a help desk. Onsite across the North Creek and Canyon Park corridor, delivered remotely nationwide.

Local reality

Bothell is a life-science town, and it changes the work.

Life science is the second-largest industry cluster in Snohomish County, accounting for roughly 5,000 biotechnology and medical-device jobs, according to Economic Alliance Snohomish County. Much of it sits in Bothell, spread across the Canyon Park Business Center on the Snohomish side and North Creek on the King County side. That concentration produces a specific set of IT problems, and they are not the problems a downtown Seattle professional-services firm has.

Growth-stage companies outrun their tenant. A company that went from thirty people in a lab to three hundred across R&D, manufacturing, quality, and commercial has an M365 tenant that was configured for the thirty. Permissions were granted ad hoc, SharePoint grew without an information architecture, and nobody revisited Conditional Access. That is survivable until someone turns on Copilot and it starts surfacing documents across boundaries that were never really enforced.

Acquisition is the normal exit, and it lands on IT. When a clinical-stage company is acquired or a program is out-licensed, the tenant merge, the data carve-out, and the records-retention question all arrive at once — usually against a transition services agreement clock set by lawyers before anyone counted the mailboxes. Tenant-to-tenant work here is routine rather than exceptional.

The data has a compliance surface that is not HIPAA. Research data, manufacturing records, and pre-publication intellectual property carry real protection obligations, and validated systems constrain what can be changed and when. We engineer the Microsoft platform underneath and work alongside your quality function — we do not write validation protocols, and we will tell you plainly where our line is rather than blur it. Washington's My Health My Data Act is also worth checking against, because it reaches consumer health data held by organizations that are not HIPAA covered entities at all.

Instrument-adjacent systems age differently. Lab equipment often depends on a workstation running an operating system the vendor validated years ago and will not re-validate. That constraint is real, and it does not disappear because Windows Server 2019 left support. It gets isolated, documented, and planned around — which is a different engagement from a clean-sheet migration, and it is worth scoping honestly up front.

Scope

What we get called in for.

Scoped, fixed-fee, and finite. Every engagement is defined in writing before it starts.

Tenant consolidation

Post-acquisition tenant merges and divestiture carve-outs against a transition services agreement deadline. Mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and Power Platform.

Copilot readiness

Permission and oversharing remediation before Copilot indexes a tenant that grew faster than its information architecture. Fixed-fee two-week assessment.

Identity engineering

Entra ID hybrid, Conditional Access rollout without breaking production, and Active Directory cleanup after years of organic growth.

Coverage

Where we work.

Bothell is a routine onsite trip from our Seattle base, as are Woodinville, Mill Creek, Lynnwood, Everett, Kirkland, Redmond, and Bellevue. Project delivery is USA-wide and largely remote; we travel for discovery, cutovers, and anything that is genuinely better done in a room.

FAQ

Common questions from Bothell organizations.

Who does IT consulting in Bothell for Microsoft project work?

Pro IT NW. We are a senior-led Microsoft project consultancy based in Seattle, working regularly across Bothell and the North Creek and Canyon Park business parks. The work is scoped and fixed-fee: Microsoft 365 and Exchange migrations, tenant consolidation after an acquisition, identity and Conditional Access engineering, VMware exits, and Copilot permission remediation. We are not a managed service provider and we do not run a help desk — if you need day-to-day support or an on-call queue, we are the wrong firm.

Do you work onsite in Bothell, or is everything remote?

Both, and the split is deliberate. Migration execution is remote work by nature — there is nothing to touch. Discovery walkthroughs, lab and instrument-adjacent systems, cutover weekends, and stakeholder sessions are done onsite when being in the room changes the outcome. Bothell is a routine drive from Seattle, so onsite is not an exception we charge a premium for.

We are a life-science company. Do you understand GxP and validated systems?

We are honest about the line here. Pro IT NW engineers the Microsoft platform underneath — identity, tenant configuration, permissions, device posture, data location, and audit logging — and we work alongside your quality and validation function rather than replacing it. We do not write validation protocols or sign off IQ/OQ/PQ, and any consultancy telling you their migration is inherently GxP-compliant is overselling. What we do is make sure the platform change is documented, reversible, and evidenced well enough that your validation lead can do their job.

We just got acquired. Can you merge our Microsoft 365 tenant into the parent's?

That is one of the most common engagements we run, and it is common in this corridor specifically. Scope covers mailboxes with full fidelity, OneDrive and SharePoint content with permissions intact, Teams chats and channels, Power Platform apps and flows, group-based licensing remap, Entra ID alignment, and DNS cutover without mail loss. Timelines are usually driven by a transition services agreement rather than by the technology. See the tenant-to-tenant migration page for the detail.

Is Bothell in King County or Snohomish County?

Both — the city straddles the county line, which is more than trivia if you are scoping compliance or public-sector work. The Canyon Park business park sits on the Snohomish County side and North Creek on the King County side, and county lines can affect everything from public-records obligations to which regional agreements apply. Worth confirming which side your registered address falls on before anyone writes it into a contract.

What size organization do you work with?

Roughly 50 to 1,500 seats. Large enough that a migration has real consequences and a written runbook earns its keep, small enough that a Tier-1 integrator will not quote it under their minimums. That band covers most of the clinical-stage and commercial-stage companies in the corridor.

Tell us the workload, the seat count, and the deadline.

We come back inside two business days with scope and a fixed-fee range. If it is not a fit, we will say that instead.
