Independent IT review for Spokane and Coeur d'Alene.

Could you remove your IT provider's access without their cooperation, and keep control? We answer that in writing, fix what needs fixing through fixed-fee projects, and help you buy only the outside support you still need. Seattle-based, a day's drive away.

Pro IT NW is an independent, labor-only IT consultancy based in Seattle. For Spokane and Coeur d'Alene organizations that rely on an outside IT provider, we run a read-only Separation-Readiness Review, review the IT agreement and invoices, then fix what we find through fixed-fee projects. We don't do managed services, we don't resell licences, and we never refer you to a provider.

How it runs

Four steps. You decide at each one.

Each step is scoped in writing before it starts, and none of them requires changing provider.

01

Separation-Readiness Review

Every way administrative control can be exercised today: Global Admins, partner access, apps with admin rights, registrar and DNS, licence billing, BitLocker keys, backups, remote-management agents. One written answer: yes, yes with conditions, or not today.

02

Agreement & invoice review

Renewal date, notice window, exit terms, data-return conditions, incident-notification terms, and what the invoices actually charge for. We flag clauses for your attorney; it isn't legal advice.

03

Fix through projects

Fixed-fee work scoped from the findings: retire the leftover on-premises Exchange, clean up admin access, get device keys and backups into your name.

04

Right-size the outside support

With the debt retired, re-baseline what still needs ongoing support and write a scope for your renewal, timed to the notice window. Your decision; we don't refer.

Local reality

What's different about the Inland Northwest.

Credit unions: the regulator already asked the question. Spokane County is home to an unusually large number of credit unions for its size. NCUA Letter 23-CU-07 (August 2023) tells federally insured credit unions to “Review contracts with critical service providers to determine if there are provisions requiring timely notification of cyber incidents.” (NCUA, Letter 23-CU-07) Your IT provider is usually one of those critical providers. An agreement review reads the contract for exactly that clause, alongside renewal, notice and data-return terms.

Independent clinics and practices. Specialty practices, dental groups and independent clinics across Spokane and Kootenai counties typically run on a small outside IT provider. The HIPAA Security Rule expects you to control who can access electronic protected health information, and that includes the provider's accounts. Can you list them today?

Aerospace and precision-manufacturing suppliers. Suppliers handling Controlled Unclassified Information carry a NIST SP 800-171 self-assessment score in SPRS. With CMMC Phase 2 suspended since July 13, 2026, there's no assessor checking that score first, which makes the evidence behind it more important, not less. In a smaller shop that evidence often rests on one person, or on the provider. More on GCC High and CMMC readiness.

A day's drive, same time zone. Spokane is on Pacific time and a day's drive from Seattle. Coeur d'Alene is in Idaho, but on Pacific time as well. Cutover windows line up, and an in-person readout costs a drive rather than a flight.

FAQ

Common questions from Inland Northwest organizations.

Are you a Spokane IT company?

We're a Seattle-based IT consultancy that works with Spokane, Spokane Valley and Coeur d'Alene organizations, remotely and in person when it's worth the drive. We don't run day-to-day IT support or managed services. We review where control of your IT sits, review IT agreements, and deliver fixed-fee Microsoft 365, Exchange and identity projects. If you're comparing managed IT providers, our Spokane buyer's guide lists eight things to check before you sign.

Do you come to Spokane and Coeur d'Alene in person?

When the work is better done in a room, yes: Spokane is a day's drive from Seattle. Most of a Separation-Readiness Review is remote by nature, with read-only access, working sessions over video and a written report, so we travel for the conversations worth having face to face rather than by default.

Do you replace our current IT provider?

No. We don't do managed services and we don't refer you to anyone who does. We review where control sits today, fix what needs fixing through fixed-fee projects (often alongside your current provider), and then help you decide how much outside support you still need. That decision is yours, at your renewal.

What does NCUA Letter 23-CU-07 have to do with our IT contract?

Among its guidance to federally insured credit unions, the letter says to "Review contracts with critical service providers to determine if there are provisions requiring timely notification of cyber incidents." Your IT provider is usually one of those providers. Our agreement review reads the contract for that clause, alongside renewal, notice and data-return terms. We flag what we find for your counsel; it isn't legal advice.

Is CMMC certification required for our aerospace contracts yet?

Not on a set date. CMMC Phase 2, the third-party assessment milestone, was suspended on July 13, 2026. What still binds: DFARS 252.204-7012 and the NIST SP 800-171 self-assessment score in SPRS that your primes rely on. We help with readiness and the evidence behind that score; we are not a certification body.

Do you resell Microsoft licensing?

No. Pro IT NW is labor-only. We don't resell licences, hardware or managed services, and we take no fee or commission from any provider. That's why a review from us has no reason to come out any particular way.

Want to know where you stand?

Tell us roughly how many people and devices you have, and who looks after your IT today. If a review isn't worth it for you, we'll say so.
